Our Work: Strategic Areas of Intervention
At Go Green and Restore Africa Action (GGRAA) Ltd, our work spans several strategic areas to foster sustainable development and environmental conservation. We empower communities through capacity building and education, equipping individuals with skills for nature-based businesses and climate resilience. Our grassroots actions combat climate change, protect biodiversity, and promote sustainable natural resource management. Through advocacy, we generate and share information to influence policy changes and public action. We also promote ecotourism and innovative nature-related businesses, enhancing conservation and community well-being. Collaborating with various stakeholders, we amplify our impact, while focusing on the healing benefits of nature to improve health and well-being.
To achieve our mission, GGRAA provides capacity building to groups and individuals in various fields of our area of expertise aligned with identified capacity gap. We offer training and workshops to equip people especially youth and women with knowledge and skills related to nature based business as part of nature based solutions and ecosystem based adaptation. Others include not limited green economy and green jobs creation. In addition, GGRAA work with various community groups as key actors for grassroots change. Our work together focuses on collaboration and working together on identified area of interest that would not only engage them and make them proud of the work together but also to enhance ownership, impact and sustainability. As partners, they are part of decision making on what is being done with them and for them. We encourage good governance, transparency and accountability.
- Strengthening good governance to ensure that the management and leadership of the community entities we work with are accountable and inclusive,
- Strengthening technical capacity to Improve the quality of products and products value chain to increase their marketability.
- Identify new niche market and development of new products for diversification to meet clients’ needs.
- Strengthening the culture of credits and saving through village saving and loan (VSL) schemes to improve access to financial services and other resources to increase livelihood options.
Education – Raising green and environment awareness
Using our websites, social media and our products, we raise awareness about greening the planet. From the cup of coffee in the morning to the smoothie of banana before bed, from small to big actions, GGRAA encourages each and every one from everywhere to take green actions. We raise awareness among the consumers of our products and we set a consumption platform to convey messages about greening and restoring the planet.
The work of GGRAA is extended to environment protection and climate change. GGRAA takes part in the global agenda of addressing effects of climate change from the grassroots. Greening and restoring the planet is interconnected to wildlife and biodiversity conservation, natural resource management and preservation of ecosystem. We take actions in caring and protecting the ecosystem, nature and all the biodiversity for the health of the planet, the whole ecosystem including human health.
Our advocacy strategy consists of generating information about issues and sharing them with decision-makers, key stakeholders and the public to advocate for action or change. Those are related to the environmental, economic and social issues, green economy and climate change. The advocacy is done through writing papers and policy briefs on key issues, writing articles in local newspapers, writing blogs and being active on social media outreach to encourage people to take green actions that protect our environment, combat climate change and support local community in green initiatives
Nature based enterprise has been acknowledged to be a good conservation strategy in the past, especially in ecotourism. GGRAA wants to find new ways of nature related business as nature based solutions that generate financial benefits while they contribute to land restoration, biodiversity conservation, human health and well-being.
We value partnership and collaboration. We work with different partners and stakeholders to bring together our efforts and synergies. We strive to network and partner with different organizations, private sector, local community, etc.
GGRAA focuses on another area of work nature healing and human well-being. Research proved that nature can provide to human being lots of benefits. GGRAA enhance nature business that support people to explore and fully enjoy the benefits from nature. Many researchers proved information about the healing benefits of nature, GGRAA focus on supporting people to access and enjoy nature benefits by providing green products and services while they take action in greening and restoring the planet.
We are passionate to bring together the three sustainability pillars (people, profit and planet) and to contribute to climate change adaptation and mitigation.
